The Monroe Foundation was started in 1973, when the Methodist Church at the corner of Averill Ave and Monroe Ave burned down.
The purpose of the Foundation is to provide financial assistance to worthy Christian causes and community needs. The request for funds should describe specifically how the funds will be used for this purpose. The funds of the Foundation are limited. Grants will be made for special programs for a specific period of time. Grants will not be made for capital expenditures (major equipment, building programs, remodeling, etc.) and generally are not available as long-term or annual contributions for operating purposes. In cases where funds requested from the Monroe Foundation would provide only partial support to a given program/project; any monies granted will be held until documentation is received that the project has been fully funded and is ready for implementation. As the Board of Managers of the Monroe Foundation is now meeting bi-annually, requests must be received no late than 3:00 pm on MAY 20 or NOV 20 for consideration. Please submit (9) NINE copies of your request. A single copy of the IRS letter attesting to your tax exemption is sufficient. Click Here For Application Click Here For Cover Letter
